Certainly one of the favorites in my garden. Very dependable, excellent fall color. Easily cultivated.

Excellent, reliable but very variable autumn colour, lasting from September to November, a wide spreading mushroom shaped tree here.

Beautiful tough reliable tree with stunning fall color and fabulous bark. Probably my favorite tree.

We love our parrotia persica! We have had it about 9 years and it is about 11 or 12 feet tall. Everyone asks us what it is. We have looked for the trees at the Botanical Garden but have never found them.

This tree did not live up to my expectations. It sent out suckers which I had to remove often and did not have good fall color. After 10 years I took it out.

Will grow as multistemmed large shrub or single-stem tree. Your choice. I've seen parrotia both ways and like 'em both ways. Fall color in my Zone 6B is neon gold most every year. They're late to turn but long to hold that color. Occasionally there's some winter dieback on this species, but seldom any bug or leaf disease.

I've worshipped mine for ten years but the past two severe winters caused serious die back. It keeps showing signs of life but after two years I'm saddened by the sight and will remove. Not sure whether to try again or go with something less risky.

Have grown 2 ''Vanessas''. (10 yrs) Fall color can be variable. I moved one due to weak color and it has done much better. Golden. Cross branching can be minor problem. Excellent shape a bit like a small Cleveland Pear. If you blink you will probably miss the blooms.

I consider ours a specimen and it has survived the worst winter on record.
