finally found a perenial plant for our sunny weather in southern california. many perenials that we have planted have not survived the constant sun. the plant spreads nicely with lots of blooms, not just in spring. looks great grouped together or even spaced along walkway!

An excellent early bloomer for the butterfly garden. Evergreen all winter in zone 8, then produces a dense flower bloom beginning in early March.

A reliable early bloomer for a perennial bed. Butterflies like it and the mass of blooms is a welcome early spring sight in St. Louis. It does like full sun, but requires minimal maintenance.

Requires supplemental water for blooms even in early spring in northern California.

Be sure to shear over this plant after bloom to prevent legginess. This is a great edger that is not used as much now. Shearing very important.

Tried this plant in a raised garden bed that received full sun and regular water. Looked great for several months until leaves turned yellow as the weather got warmer.

Received as gift in hanging basket and took a chance and planted in rock garden 2 years ago. Amazing floral display in spring and beautiful green appearance rest of year, and to think I almost trashed it with the basket.
