I do not like this thing. It grows like a weed in my neighbour's yard and is now invading my garden. I have seen them as far as three houses away. How can they be eradicated without having to dig up my whole garden or nuking it?

I bought a small pot of this plant 7 years ago to plant around our pond. It has multiplied about 1000 times! I really wish I hadn't planted it simply because it is too hard to control or eradicate even though it's appearance is interesting. Be forewarned: Horsetail is invasive!!!

I have found that Ortho Brush-B-Gone will kill this invasive pest. I add additional dish water soap and double the suggested amount of herbicide. Took about three weeks for the stalks to turn black. The ones that did not die with the first dose, I individually sprayed. Worked very well. This year....NO Snakegrass!

I love this plant too....I use it in my little oasis. Also it`s a very good idea to plant it in a pot...so you could watch its beautiful and interesting shape from close!

I have put this in planters around my koi pond - use the pond water to water the plants. If you keep them contained, they are a beautiful back drop with lots of vertical interest and rich green color. Don't allow to get dry - I did this summer and the some shafts really fried. They were resiliant, however, and are coming back.

I think this plant should be highly recommended for our area , zone 3. It will never spread to a point of invasiveness in this climate zone . It has a beautiful winter upright evergreen accent.
