Culture

Grow in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in part shade to full shade. Spreads by underground stems. Intolerant of full sun. Only winter hardy to USDA Zone 7 (roots will usually be killed when temperatures dip below 10 F), so this plant will need considerable protection if grown in the St. Louis area.

Noteworthy Characteristics

This super dwarf mondo grass is an ornamental grass which is closely related to Liriope. Forms a dense carpet only 1-2" high. Tiny, pale lavender flowers on short stalks in summer are often hidden by the leaves.
