This 79-acre public garden includes tropical and temperate conservatories as well as a multitude of themed gardens that allow visitors to learn about different ecosystems, cultures and history, all while celebrating, connecting with and learning about plants.

A tropical conservatory and outdoor native gardens provide habitats in which butterflies thrive. Visitors can explore butterfly characteristics and a wide variety of species while learning about the role butterflies and other insects play in our everyday lives and in the global world.

More than 2,400 acres serve as a vibrant, biodiverse, living laboratory of Missouri ecosystems, including prairie, woodlands, glades and wetlands. This outdoor classroom also demonstrates the importance of ecological conservation and restoration.

Sustainability in Schools

Students with landfill model The Garden's EarthWays Center offers PK–12 school programs and classroom visits centering on wise resource use, including waste reduction and recycling, pollutants and energy consumption.
