Online Registration for Field Trips

Note: Garden Classes are completely booked for February, March, April and May, 2012. However, guided tours and self-guided tours are still available for these months.


    All school groups, whether led by a Garden volunteer or self-guided by a teacher,
    must complete this Online Registration for Field Trips form.

    Required Chaperone Ratios
    Grades PK-3: 1 adult per 5 students
    Grades 4 and up: 1 adult per 8 students
    Children's Garden: 1 adult per 5 students

    * Select your preferred time. Classes are 2 hours in length and can start on the half hour between 9 a.m. and noon. All classes conclude by 2 p.m.

    Garden Classes




    Shaw's Satchels

    Enhance your Self-guided visit by reserving a Shaw's Satchel at the time of your reservation. A Shaw's Satchel includes age-appropriate activities which lead students to explore and discover the many plants that are grown in the botanical garden. Satchels are:

    • Issued to each group upon arrival and collected at departure.
    • One Shaw's Satchel is issued for every ten students and their accompanying chaperones.
    • Group size maximum is 100 students.
    • Fee: $3 per satchel and RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.

    Children’s Garden Visit

    Check the box below for a Children’s Garden visit (the Children’s Garden is open April–October). All school groups must pre-register their Children's Garden visit to receive special admission rate of $3 per child for children ages 3 to 12 years. School groups are required to have 1 adult chaperone per 5 students.

    Scholarships Available

    The Missouri Botanical Garden’s Education Department offers need-based scholarships so that every student has the opportunity to experience, explore, discover and learn at the Garden, the Shaw Nature Reserve and the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House. Both schools/organizations and individual students may apply.
