Summer Garden Programs

Instructor teaching boysWe will explore the Garden, play games and pot a plant to take home. We'll spend most of our time exploring outdoors. There is however a small portion that will take place in a classroom. This time can be extended if necessary, due to inclement weather.

Programs are geared for kids ages 6–12. Minimum group size is 20; Maximum group size is 60.

Join us as we explore the edible gardens and lean where some of our favorite foods come from and how it’s grown. We’ll plant seeds to take home to start your very own mini vegetable garden.

Celebrate summer by looking closely at the flowers and fruits of plants in the Garden. Discover Project BudBurst’s Summer Solstice Snapshot Campaign to observe, collect and record our data. Pot up your very own plant to take home and record your own data.

Why are there so many insects in the garden and why are they here? Join us as we investigate the insects that visit the Garden. We’ll play some buggy games and plant a pollinator-friendly plant to take home.

Visit the Children's Garden

Consider visiting the Children's Garden with your summer camp group! This engaging playspace offers wonderful opportunities for hands-on exploration and fun!

Cost is $3 per pre-registered camper, ages 3–12. Camp groups should pre-register their Children's Garden visit.

Garden of Glass

Plan a visit to the special exhibit Garden of Glass: The Art of Craig Mitchell Smith which will be in the Climatron© May 13–August 13. Learn more

All groups must pre-register their Garden of Glass visit to receive special admission rate of $4 per child. Groups are required to have 1 adult chaperone per 5 children.
