Annual Fall Symposium

Symposium

The Missouri Botanical Garden will host its 63rd Annual Fall Symposium on October 7-8, 2016, entitled “Ecological Restoration in a Changing Biosphere.” As part of the Garden’s strong philosophical and programmatic emphasis on conservation and sustainability, the Symposium will bring together a distinguished group of experts to discuss and debate the critical issues relating to ecological restoration. One of the most difficult and critical challenges in conservation and ecosystem management today is how to restore to health the many and diverse areas that have already been negatively impacted by human activities, and to lay the groundwork for maintaining intact, viable ecological communities in those areas at a time when climate, ecological baselines, and land-use policies are changing rapidly, often in unpredictable ways.
