The portal for the conservation of Africa's flora and fauna. Very comprehensive site. Explains the conservation programs in each country and provides a link to the program's sponsoring organization.

Biopolitics International Organisation
Explore a wealth of information on environmental issues, access all BIO publications and a cross-reference library on the environment in relation to other fields and the World Referendum.

Conservation Ecology Journal
An electronic, peer-reviewed, scientific journal devoted to the rapid dissemination of current research. Easy to search. Lots of great articles presented in their entirety.

Conservation Letters
A journal of the Society for Conservation Biology. The journal presents cutting-edge advances in the science and practice of conserving biological diversity and promoting human well-being. It promotes high-impact, problem-focused studies on globally important, policy-relevant topics that provide conservation practitioners, policy-makers and researchers insights and techniques for better ensuring the persistence of biodiversity.

Early Classics in Biogeography, Distribution, and Diversity Studies: To 1950
An extensive listing of articles all with a relevance to the study of geographical distribution and diversity. Many articles presented in their entirety.

Ecological Society of America Journals
A suite of journals, in suitable forms, that address the interests of all appropriate readers, including scientists, students, educators, resource managers, and other users of ecological knowledge.

The Eden Project (England)
Located in Cornwall, England, this global garden features 5000 species from around the world and the world's largest greenhouse. If you can go there, do! This place sounds fabulous, for the botanist and non-botanist alike.

Environment Australia
Very nice site from down under. Lots of information. Check out the Biodiversity page.

Global Change Master Directory
A comprehensive directory about Earth science and global change data. Presented by NASA.

Jatun Sacha Foundation (Ecuador)
Established in 1989, this is one of the two largest non-profit conservation organizations in Ecuador. In English and Spanish.

The Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme
Administered by UNESCO, MAB encourages interdisciplinary research, demonstration and training in natural resource management. Contains links to all 393 Biosphere Reserves.

The National Gap Analysis Program
Coordinated by the USGS, Biological Resources Division, gap analysis is a process of assessing regional biodiversity through mapping and ecological modeling. GAP received the "Earth Day 2000 National Award for Environmental Sustainability."

National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE)
The website brings together reports, presentations and background materials related to NCSE’s ongoing efforts to advance science and public understanding of the rapid and catastrophic loss of biodiversity and Life on Earth.

The Nature Conservancy
Both national and international in scope, TNC is the world's largest private conservation group. Through sound science, they are expanding the boundaries of conservation to save Earth's Last Great Places for future generations.

NatureServe
Providing the scientific basis for effective conservation action, NatureServe is a leading source for information about rare and endangered species and threatened ecosystems. Excellent site.

Rainforest Action Network
The most comprehensive site on rainforest activism, RAN works to protect the Earth's rainforests and support the rights of their inhabitants through education grassroots organizing, and non-violent direct action.

Rainforestweb.org
This is a wonderful site filled with links and information about rainforests around the world. Great kid site and a must-see for everyone.

St. Louis Invasive Plants Species Workshop
In December 2001, experts from across the globe met in St. Louis, Missouri to explore and develop workable voluntary approaches for reducing the introduction and spread of non-native invasive plants, which are serious threats to protecting biodiversity and ecosystems in the United States and other countries.

World Conservation
A bi-annual journal from the World Conservation Union (IUCN), articles are presented in .pdf format in both French and English.

World Resources Institute (WRI)
One of my favorite sites for its comprehensive content and design. WRI meets global challenges by using knowledge to catalyze public and private action. Check out "Global Topics" and "EarthTrends".
