Free evening outdoor concert featuring Marsha Evans who has headlined major events such as the Big Muddy Blues and Heritage Festival and Blues Week, and shared the stage with nationally known artists like Michael McDonald, Fontella Bass and the Temptations. Marsha's musical career began at an early age, inspired by her mother, one of the first black females to perform on the stage of the Muny Opera, and her father, lead trumpet player for the famed George Hudson Orchestra. After working as the featured vocalist with Hudson's orchestra, Marsha went on to become the featured vocalist of Johnnie Johnson's ensemble.

Lawn seating; bring chairs or a blanket. Picnicking is permitted after 5 p.m.; pack a picnic or purchase food and beverages on site.

No pets, barbecue grills or smoking. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. Free admission after 5 p.m.; last entry at 9 p.m. The Doris I. Schnuck Children’s Garden remains open with free admission from 5 to 7 p.m. Cohen Ampitheater lawn. Sponsored by the Whitaker Foundation.
