The Butterfly House, where the conservatory is kept at a toasty 85 degrees every day, is the perfect place for a winter outing. 2018 St. Louis Green Business Challenge Awardees Announced

The St. Louis Green Business Challenge, a program of the Missouri Botanical Garden, has just completed the ninth year of work with companies across the bi-state region to advance sustainability as a business solution. At an awards celebration held Friday, December 7 at Innovation Hall in the Cortex Innovation District, 55 businesses and local government entities were recognized for their work this year to integrate sustainable policies and practices into their operations.

Shaw Nature Reserve to Host 13th Annual Art Show and Sale

Spend an afternoon perusing local art in the tranquil outdoor setting of Shaw Nature Reserve at its annual Art Show and Sale.

The Art at the Shaw Nature Reserve Annual Show & Sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, and Sunday, November 4. It will be held at the Dana Brown Overnight Education Center.

MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDEN CELEBRATES TREE WEEK OCT. 29 – NOV. 4

The Missouri Botanical Garden is celebrating its colorful canopy at the peak of fall foliage season. Tree Week is a new campaign offering visitors the chance to learn more about the Garden’s impressive tree collection, and the staff who care for it, all while soaking in the bright red, yellow and orange hues overhead.

Missouri Botanical Garden Appoints New Vice President of Human Resources

After an extensive search, the Missouri Botanical Garden has named Teresa Clark Vice President, Human Resources. Clark has worked for the Garden since 2014 in the role of Senior HR Manager. She was appointed Interim Vice President earlier this year.

Garden Staff Member Selected as Grosvenor Teacher Fellow

Katherine (Kat) Golden from the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, Missouri has been selected as one of this year’s Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellows in recognition of her commitment to geographic education. She is the sustainability education manager at the EarthWays Center, the sustainability division of the Garden.

A Botanical Mystery Solved by Phylogenetic Testing

Missouri Botanical Garden researchers used DNA testing to rediscover Dracaena umbraculifera, which was thought to be extinct. The methods and results were published in Oryx. The authors include Garden researchers in both St. Louis and Madagascar.
