A 501(3)(c) non-profit organization, The Hummingbird Conservancy centers its efforts on the conservation of biodiversity in the northwest Andes of Colombia. The foundation supports and executes directly scientific research, environmental education and conservation activities.

Biological Conservation
It is a leading international journal in the discipline of conservation science. The journal publishes articles spanning a diverse range of fields that contribute to the biological, sociological, ethical and economic dimensions of conservation.

Centre for Tropical Environmental and Sustainability  Science
It is based at James Cook University (JCU), Australia's leading tropical research university. The mission is to promote cutting-edge ecological and environmental research in the tropics, and the wise management, conservation and sustainable use of tropical terrestrial and coastal ecosystems, in Australia and internationally.

Center for Plant Conservation at San Diego Zoo'Global
The cooperative CPC network maintains the National Collection of Endangered Plants. Believed to be the largest living collection of rare plants in the world, the collection contains more than 1,400 of America’s most imperiled native plants. 

Conservation Ecology Journal
An electronic, peer-reviewed, scientific journal devoted to the rapid dissemination of current research. Easy to search. Lots of great articles presented in their entirety.

Conservation Letters
A journal of the Society for Conservation Biology. The journal presents cutting-edge advances in the science and practice of conserving biological diversity and promoting human well-being. It promotes high-impact, problem-focused studies on globally important, policy-relevant topics that provide conservation practitioners, policy-makers and researchers insights and techniques for better ensuring the persistence of biodiversity.

Conservation & Society
It is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary open access journal dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practice of conservation.

Cunninghamia
It is a fully open-access online scientific journal published on the Web by the National Herbarium of New South Wales, Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust, Sydney. Papers are published online following acceptance by the editorial committee. Acceptance is the responsibility of an editorial committee chaired by the Scientific Editor. All papers are peer-reviewed.

Located in Cornwall, England, this global garden features 5000 species from around the world and the world's largest greenhouse. If you can go there, do! This place sounds fabulous, for the botanist and non-botanist alike.

Frontiers in Conservation Science
It is a multidisciplinary, open-access, journal publishing rigorously peer-reviewed research on all topics that can be applied to conservation management. This journal is at the forefront of communicating impactful scientific discoveries to academics, industry leaders and civil society.

Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF)
It is an international open data infrastructure, funded by governments. It allows anyone, anywhere to access data about all types of life on Earth, shared across national boundaries via the Internet.

Global Change Master Directory
A comprehensive directory about Earth science and global change data. Presented by NASA.

Jatun Sacha Foundation (Ecuador)
Established in 1989, this is one of the two largest non-profit conservation organizations in Ecuador. In English and Spanish.

Journal of Tropical Ecology
It publishes papers in the important and now established field of the ecology of tropical regions, either arising from original research (experimental or descriptive) or forming significant reviews. First published in 1985, Journal of Tropical Ecology has become a major international ecological journal.

The Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme
Administered by UNESCO, MAB encourages interdisciplinary research, demonstration and training in natural resource management. Contains links to all 393 Biosphere Reserves.

The National Gap Analysis Program
Coordinated by the USGS, Biological Resources Division, gap analysis is a process of assessing regional biodiversity through mapping and ecological modeling. GAP received the "Earth Day 2000 National Award for Environmental Sustainability."

National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE)
The website brings together reports, presentations and background materials related to NCSE’s ongoing efforts to advance science and public understanding of the rapid and catastrophic loss of biodiversity and Life on Earth.

The Nature Conservancy
Both national and international in scope, TNC is the world's largest private conservation group. Through sound science, they are expanding the boundaries of conservation to save Earth's Last Great Places for future generations.

Nature Conservation
Nature Conservation publishes papers across all disciplines interested in basic and applied conservation ecology and nature conservation in general at various spatial, temporal and evolutionary scales, from populations to ecosystems and from microorganisms and fungi to higher plants and animals. It is a peer-reviewed, open-access, rapid online journal in all aspects of nature conservation.

NatureServe
Providing the scientific basis for effective conservation action, NatureServe is a leading source for information about rare and endangered species and threatened ecosystems. Excellent site.

Neotropical Biology and Conservation
Founded in 1992 "by scientists, for scientists" and initially focusing on book publishing, Pensoft is now a leading publisher of innovative open access journals. Pensoft has published more than 1,000 books and over 11,500 open access articles in a number of academic journals.

Pacific Conservation Biology
It provides an important discussion forum for regional conservation issues, debate about management priorities, and dissemination of research results. The journal publishes original research, reviews, perspectives and book reviews.

Rainforest Action Network
The most comprehensive site on rainforest activism, RAN works to protect the Earth's rainforests and support the rights of their inhabitants through education grassroots organizing, and non-violent direct action.

World Conservation
A bi-annual journal from the World Conservation Union (IUCN), articles are presented in .pdf format in both French and English.

World Resources Institute (WRI)
One of my favorite sites for its comprehensive content and design. WRI meets global challenges by using knowledge to catalyze public and private action. Check out "Global Topics" and "EarthTrends".
