Garden research associates Peter Bernhardt, Ph.D., a professor of biology at SLU and research associate of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust in Sydney, New South Wales, and Dr. Retha Edens-Meier, have recently discovered that bees prefer warm violets in cool forests, as reported in Journal of Pollination Ecology. Research for the report included field work at the Garden's Shaw Nature Reserve.
