Dr. Margaret “Meg” Lowman, known affectionately throughout the world as “Canopy Meg,” is a global pioneer in forest canopy ecology and one of the world’s foremost “arbornauts” studying and exploring the vast forest canopies that makeup what she has termed the Earth’s “eighth continent.”

Named the “Real-Life Lorax” by National Geographic, Meg’s work focuses on exploring, researching, and conserving global forests, mentoring the next generation in sustainability and forest stewardship, and educating diverse audiences through storytelling.

“Canopy Meg” will take members on a virtual adventure into the world’s treetops and discuss her journey as a tree scientist, her expertise with climate action and forest conservation, and her new memoir The Arbornaut: A Life Discovering the Eighth Continent in the Trees Above us.
