ENJOY A WILD WEEKEND at Shaw Nature Reserve's Dana Brown Overnight Center! These unforgettable overnight experiences come complete with a warm campfire and s’mores, an exciting night hike around the wetlands, nature bingo and much more. Scouts will stay in the Dana Brown Overnight Center’s cozy and historic lodges, complete with bunk beds, heating and air conditioning! Scouts will receive a one-of-a-kind souvenir patch for participating, too. Registration fills up fast for these popular experiences, so be sure to sign up close to registration opening day to secure your spot!

Overnights run from 5 p.m. on Friday or Saturday to 9:30  a.m. on Saturday or Sunday unless otherwise noted.

Overnights are open to Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes and Cub Scout Wolves, Bears and Webelos

Cost: $39/scout, $19/chaperone
(1 chaperone per 5 scouts required, but you may register more if you like)

Note: Between the two sites (Missouri Botanical Garden and Shaw Nature Reserve) we are only able to schedule 3–5 overnights per year.

  • Registration is required and is online only. A registration link will appear the day registration opens around 9 a.m. You may not pay over the phone.
  • To register, you will need the first name of each scout and chaperone and any severe food allergies that overnight staff should be aware of.
  • You may not edit your registration in any way after the registration end date.
  • Each scout and adult is required to complete a Participant Agreement. Please bring these forms with you to check in. Those who do not submit these forms will not be able to participate.

Note: The age range for scout groups is determined by the designations set by the appropriate councils. In the interest of consistency, we are unable to make exceptions for children outside of the levels specified.


Overnight Details


Cancellation Policy

For Scout Overnight refunds, cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to the program. Refunds cannot be issued for cancellations less than two weeks in advance or for missed programs. If the Missouri Botanical Garden must cancel a Scout Overnight, you will be notified and receive a full refund.
