MANTIS (Making Advocates of Nature-Loving Teens In Service) is an interactive volunteer program created to encourage students to gain hands-on experience in nature conservation, while gaining plant and animal knowledge through environmental stewardship. If you’re looking to complete service hours and love nature, then this program is for you!

Who can join?
MANTIS is for teens ages 14–18 that love working with kids, learning about the environment and want to promote a better understanding of our natural world!

When can I volunteer?
All new MANTIS volunteers must begin in the summer session. MANTIS sessions:

Summer: May–August (apply by April 26)
Fall: September–December
Spring: February–April

Shifts are available Tuesday–Sunday (days, and evenings during special events)

What are the expectations?
The Butterfly House requires teen volunteers to commit to minimum of 30 hours per seasonal rotations. Teens must attend orientation and training sessions.
