Tuesday–Sunday (Closed Mondays*)

10 a.m.–4 p.m. (Last Admission at 3:30 p.m.)

 

Fall/Winter Hours (September- February): Butterfly House opens at 10 a.m.

Spring/Summer Hours (March-August): Butterfly House opens at 9 a.m.

*Open some "Bonus Mondays" including Presidents Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day.

The Butterfly House is closed for a few weeks in January for annual maintenance. Jan 2026 Closure dates are 1/5/26 - 1/23/26.

STROLLER POLICY

Limited space and USDA containment requirements restrict our ability to have strollers, wagons, multi-passenger stroller-wagons, etc. brought into the Butterfly House, including the Tropical Conservatory. We strongly encourage the use of baby slings or carriers as alternatives to strollers, when visiting the Butterfly House.

If you require an accommodation, please consider using a smaller, lightweight “umbrella” stroller. The immersive nature of our exhibit areas do not easily accommodate oversize, side-by-side, double-seated, multi-passenger, or jogging strollers.  No wheeled-toys will be allowed in the Butterfly House including bikes, scooters, skates, etc.

The Butterfly House is fully wheelchair accessible.

St. Louis City/County residents enjoy free admission to the Butterfly House on the first Tuesday of every month for the first two hours of operations. Proof of residency is required. Offer only available onsite. HOLIDAY HOURS

OPEN: President's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.

CLOSED: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
