Chemical Action and Usages: Imidacloprid is a systemic, chloro-nicotinyl insecticide with many soil, seed and foliar uses. The chemical works by disrupting the nervous system of the insect resulting in the insect's paralysis and eventual death. It is used for the control of many sucking insects and is effective against adult or larval stages of various species. Products are available to control aphids, thrips, whiteflies, scale, termites, turf and soil insects and some beetles. Imidacloprid kills insects by contact and ingestion and is especially systemic when used as a soil treatment.

Cautions/Instructions: Read the label carefully of the brand and formulation you have selected. Apply the product according to the directions on the label.

Toxicity: Imidacloprid has a relatively low toxicity to humans. It is highly toxic to bees if used as a foliar application when bees are foraging. The toxicity to fish is moderate to low. Seeds treated with Imidacloprid can be toxic to birds especially the house sparrow. It is moderately toxic to earthworms.
