Symposium

The Missouri Botanical Garden will host its 66th Annual Fall Symposium on October 11-12, 2019, entitled “The Origins and Maintenance of Neotropical Biodiversity.” The American tropics might be the most biodiverse region in the planet. Scientists are still putting together the pieces of the puzzle that explains this mega-diversity. This year’s Symposium brings together a distinguished group of speakers actively working to further our understanding of the evolutionary and ecological mechanisms responsible for the generation and maintenance of species diversity in the Neotropics. The symposium will integrate approaches across scales, from large-scales studies on the diversification and evolution of clades, to local-scale research on species interactions. The program will be of interest to students of systematics, phylogeny, evolution, and conservation. Learn more
