Spring and Summer 2018 Green Living Classes with EarthWays Center

Education is a key tool in supporting a greener future. Yet, sometimes as adults we fail to stop, pause, and engage in meaningful experiences that help us dive deeper and expand our current knowledge base. This is where the EarthWays Green Living class offerings can help supports you in discovery, sharing, and exploring the curiosities around our planet. Ranging in topics from basic understanding of waste and recycling to hands-on workshops in creative reuse and greener cleaning methods to field experiences to organic farm schools and local recycling sites – these classes cover it all! We’ve got chickens, bikes, and more – but we need you!

So join us this spring and summer at an upcoming class. You’ll enjoy discovering new connections to living a greener life, resource conservation, and have fun while learning. We are excited to welcome regional experts in sustainability to our program this spring including Green Dining Alliance, VeloFix St. Louis, EarthDance Organic Farm School, the Easy Chicken, Perennial, Traveling Tea, and many more. Through these unique class offerings and partnerships, EarthWays Center is able to share key concepts in sustainability with participants from all over the St. Louis region. From energy to water to compost to reuse and more we’ve got something for everyone to enjoy!

Clean Water and You: Issues in Water Quality and Stormwater Issues | NEWClean Water and You class

This class will explore the value of clean water in our community. We will discuss important water quality issues our community faces and the many ways the region is working to protect our watersheds. Discover the relationship between human development, stormwater, and water quality issues and the best management practices we can implement to prevent pollution. Class held in partnership with St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District. Designed for adults only.

Velofix Fix-a-Flat Bike Clinic | NEW

Velofix is a  Mobile Bike Shop that believes bicycles can help change the world. Whether you are a road warrior, a commuter, an elite triathlete, a daredevil mountain biker, or enjoy your leisurely weekend rides on your e-bike, you need to be prepared do what you love…RIDE! The Fix-a-Flat clinic will cover everyone's biggest fear- the dreaded flat tire! Fear not, it's a simple fix that just takes a little bit of practice. Velofix St. Louis will give everyone a hands on approach to fixing a flat- what you need and the most time and labor efficient way to get back on the road.
