Appreciate pollinators during National Pollinator Week this June with an art show featuring artwork from local students at the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House in Chesterfield.

Pollinators contribute to the health of humans, the environment and the economy. National Pollinator Week, June 18-23, is a time to celebrate pollinators and spread the word about what you can do to protect them.

The Project Pollinator Art Show features 45 works of art created by local elementary students. Their teachers were tasked with using the theme of “pollinators” to inspire their works of art. Artworks feature bees, butterflies, birds and other unique pollinators.

These works will be on display in the theater at the Butterfly House throughout National Pollinator Week, June 18-23.

The Art Show is latest effort from the local chapter of Project Pollinator, a national movement to protect pollinators and their habitats through our newly-launched initiative. The Butterfly House partners with St. Louis County Parks and Libraries for this local effort.

The mission of Project Pollinator is to promote an appreciation of all pollinators through education and creation of pollinator gardens. The goal is to educate the public about the importance of pollinators, beyond the familiar bees and butterflies, and to provide demonstration gardens at county parks, libraries and other public venues.
