Plastic Pot Recycling
Plastic pot recycling remains suspended.

A combination of global impacts from the coronavirus pandemic and continuing issues with plastic recycling markets has prompted a suspension of plastic pot recycling for the St. Louis region, until further notice.

Garden centers that have hosted pot recycling collection trailers will NOT be accepting garden plastics at any time in 2020.

Central Paper Stock, the locally expert recycling company that has run Pot Recycling since 2017, will re-evaluate the situation in the coming months, and look to re-start pot recycling at local garden centers for the spring 2021 growing season.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT GARDEN PLASTIC INTO HOME or COMMUNITY RECYCLING BINS!
Pots, trays and cell-packs of any color, size or configuration will contaminate your single-stream recycling. Don't damage our regional household recycling system with garden pots.

You can:

  • Store your gardening pots and trays to recycle in the future.
  • Save some pots to share plants with fellow gardeners, as the season progresses.
  • Dispose of gardening plastics in landfill trash.
