Exhibits at Tower Grove House

Built in 1849, Tower Grove House is Garden founder Henry Shaw's restored country residence. Today, staff and volunteers encourage visitors to take a step back in time to learn more about the people who made the Garden grow.

Tower Grove House is open  April-December from Wednesday-Sunday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00p.m. Each day, there are experiences and activities for the entire family, with storytime every day at 11:00 a.m. and programs sharing the life of a Victorian person in St. Louis.

Life at Home: The Trelease Family at Tower Grove House

 March 31, 2019- November 17,2019

 Learn the rest of the story of Tower Grove House in the newly restored East Wing as we share more about the Garden's first director, Dr. William Trelease. Taking leadership after Henry Shaw's death, Dr. Trelease and his family navigated the changing family roles, new technologies, and scientific discoveries of twentieth century St. Louis while living at Tower Grove House.
