CampfireEnjoy a warm summer night with your pack at the Shaw Nature Reserve! Scouts will start the evening by working with our staff to complete award requirements. Afterwards, relax and enjoy a BBQ style dinner with your friends. We’ll then gather around the campfire for s’mores and other fun activities. Finish the night with a scenic hike around the wetlands! 

Optional: Scouts are invited to stay overnight and tent camp or stay in one of the historic lodges! Participants will also have access to the shower facilities. Please indicate somewhere on your roster form if you plan to stay. Participants must depart by 10 a.m. the next day. More information on staying overnight is given in the Cub Scout Night Out information sheet. Please note that Missouri Botanical Garden/Shaw Nature Reserve staff will NOT be staying overnight.

Award Requirements to be completed: 

Bears: "Fur, Feathers and Ferns" Adventure 1, 3, 4 and 5 

Webelos: "Into the Woods" Elective 2-4 

Program Cost: $25/scout, $10/chaperone (1 chaperone required for every 5 scouts). Dinner and snack are included in the fee.
Overnight Cost (optional): $10/scout to tent camp, $20/scout to bunk in one of the historic lodges; chaperones free (all participants staying overnight must have participated in event).


Note: There is no Cub Scout Night Out event scheduled for 2016.
