Shaw Nature Reserve to Host 13th Annual Art Show and Sale

(ST. LOUIS): Spend an afternoon perusing local art in the tranquil outdoor setting of Shaw Nature Reserve at its annual Art Show and Sale.

The Art at the Shaw Nature Reserve Annual Show & Sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, and Sunday, November 4. It will be held at the Dana Brown Overnight Education Center.

Find the perfect new piece of art to hang in your home among the paintings, photography, and folk art on display. Browse the selections of stunning woodworking, basketry, glass art and sculptures. Shop for beautiful, handcrafted jewelry for yourself or as a gift for a loved one.

Guests are welcome to shop or just admire the artwork.

Food, craft beer, and wine will be available for purchase.

Seven new artists will be participating in the show this year. Artists for the 2018 event include Robert Asselmeier, Carole Behrer, Shawn Cornell, Janet Dittrich, Dale Dufer, Bill Fields, Kay Foley, Gay Goessling, Bryan Hanes, Sarah Hicks, Josephine Jacobsmeyer, Don Kelly, Amy Koch, Libby Leuchtmann, Adam Long, Joey Los, Doris Malone and Irene Denton, Helen McCallie, Heather Woodson, Sam Stang and Kaeko Maehata, and Jan Trager.

The event is included with admission to Shaw Nature Reserve, which is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, and free for children under 12 and Missouri Botanical Garden members. All visitors to the show will enter through the main visitor entrance.

The Shaw Nature Reserve’s mission is “to inspire responsible stewardship of our environment through education, restoration and protection of our natural habitats and through public enjoyment of the natural world.”

The Shaw Nature Reserve of the Missouri Botanical Garden is a 2,400-acre natural area located just south of Interstate-44 at exit #253 in Gray Summit. Open 7 a.m. until sunset daily; Visitor Center open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends. The Bascom House is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The Reserve is open to hikers everyday, but the Visitor Center and Bascom House are closed on some major holidays.
