Member Speaker Series: Holiday Decorating 
Tuesday, November 12 
Two sessions offered: 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Bayer Event Center 
Learn the latest tricks and trends to deck your halls inside and out for the holidays during this popular program. This year’s presenter will be Michael Schrader, Floral Director at Schnuck Markets, Inc., with pop-up shopping before and after each session. Free | registration required

Garden Glow Member Preview

Kick off the holiday season during the exclusive members-only opening of Garden Glow. See two million lights and unique installations amid the Garden’s iconic locations. Digging Deeper Member Tours

 

New for Member Appreciation Days this year, you are invited to take a tour of some of the Garden’s most special places and behind-the-scenes locations. Because of the limited capacity: 

  • Registration is limited to two people per member household. 
  • We ask that you register for only one tour during the week. 

All tours are $10 per person to attend. Advance registration is required, and space is limited.  
 

AVAILABLE TOURS

Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House Entomology Lab
Monday, November 11 | 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  
In addition to butterflies, the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House hosts a diverse range of insects and arthropods, including cockroaches, scorpions, and beetles. Discover more about these fascinating creatures and the staff dedicated to their care on a tour of the Entomology Lab.

The Herbarium 
Wednesday, November 13 | 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  
The Garden's Herbarium is one of the largest in the world, containing over 7 million specimens of dried, preserved specimens of plants. Go behind the scenes of the Herbarium and learn how plants are collected, preserved, databased, stored, and used for research.

Shaw Nature Reserve 
Thursday, November 14 | 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  
Get an inside look at Shaw Nature Reserve as it nears its 100th anniversary in 2025. Meet the leaders of the Nature Reserve’s restoration, horticulture, and education teams to learn about their current projects.

Explore the history and highlights of the Stephen and Peter Sachs Museum, including the current exhibition, Kernels of Culture: Maize Around the World, with Museum Curator Nezka Pfeifer.

Join Derek Lyle, Nursery Senior Manager, for a behind-the-scenes look at our greenhouses located in the northwest corner of the Garden. Inside, our horticulturists care for thousands of plants used for display and research.
