This interactive photographic guide shall help to identify higher plants from Africa (excluding Madagascar). It contains images of ferns and seed plants usually taken in the field. The Australian National Botanic Gardens manages a large collection of photographic slides of its activities and Australian botany. The bulk of the collection consists of identified Australian plant species, but there is also a large number of environmental and conservation images. Good images.
California Wildflowers
Includes low-resolution, small images (200 x 150) of over 125 California wildflowers. Most have been photographed in front of a black background.
CalPhotos: Plants
This database contains nearly 30,000 images of plants, mostly from California. Searches can be made using plant name, color, and several other criteria. Images are usually very large (700 x 500) and may take a while to download. Excellent and comprehensive site!
