As many of you may know, in August Simon Warren, our former Education and Volunteer Coordinator left EarthWays and St. Louis to pursue a dual Master’s program in environmental policy and public health at Duke University. While we missed Simon dearly, we searched for a new Education Coordinator and we’re proud to introduce Maggie McCoy as part of the EarthWays Center team.
Maggie, formerly having worked at both the St. Louis Zoo and Endangered Wolf Center has an extensive history in conservation, education, and sustainability education. Maggie is excited to join the EarthWays education team and begin working with students on issues surrounding sustainability, resource use, and our community. In her free time, Maggie is an avid runner having run three marathons. She also spends time exploring the outdoors around St. Louis with her dog, daughter, and husband.
When not working with area schools, Maggie will be helping to coordinate the many on-going roles that volunteers play in our organization. Without the help of volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish our many projects, programs, and activities.
To reach Maggie about a recycling or waste-related school program or learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities contact her at mmcoy@mobot.org or (314) 577-0281.
