Below are opportunities that you can sign up for during the majority of the year. Check back in our newsletter or the volunteer page for future opportunities!
Green Living Class Assistants
These volunteers help instructors at our Green Living Classes set up materials, check-in attendees, and clean up after the class. The best part is that volunteers attend the classes and learn from these instructors for free!
Zero Waste Ambassador
Where is away? What is compost? What happens at a MRF? Ever ask yourself these questions? Do you know the answers? Interested in learning more about waste and how we can help the environment by practicing our 3R's at all times - even during big events and festivals?
Join staff from the EarthWays Center of the Missouri Botanical Garden at our next training to learn how to be the best zero-waste ambassador you can be! Get a basic understanding of waste - including an overview of landfills, recycling centers, and composting operations, gain experience talking to others about waste, and so much more.
TerraCycle Assistant
Are you interested in helping the Garden recycle those hard to recycled items? Join us as a TerraCycle Assistant. These volunteers help EarthWays staff sort through items that are sent to TerraCycle, a recycling program for items that are usually difficult to recycle. This effort helps the Garden send even less material to landfill.
Educator
EarthWays is always looking for volunteers to help with leading sustainability tours of the Missouri Botanical Garden for adult and student groups. Assistance is also needed with outreach programs at schools, especially waste audits. These volunteers help us provide a more personal experience to the students we serve.
