Hello! My name is Julia Erker, and I am the Sustainability Education Intern this fall! I am currently in my sophomore year at Saint Louis University, majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in English! I am so excited to be interning with Missouri Botanical Garden because as a St. Louis native, I grew up going to the gardens. I have already learned so much and am excited to continue learning more about the Garden, the outreach the EarthWays Center does, and the natural environment.
I have always loved being outside, hiking, going on picnics, you name it, and I feel fortunate that I was able to cultivate this love for the outdoors from a young age. That being said, I am passionate about helping others cultivate a connection with nature and a care for sustainability. Through this internship, I hope to learn how I can help others in the greater St. Louis community connect with nature and learn more about the practices of environmental education.
