We are moving forward with 107 projects through the fall of 2017 and spring of 2018. Grant awards will come out to over $280,000. This is double last year’s total! Having received 82 applications and moving forward with 66 projects for a total of over $160,000 in awards in the 2016-17 Round.

Herring House – the Garden’s Latest Green Building

In 1895, the Cleveland Avenue Gatehouse, now named the Herring House, was constructed in accordance with Henry Shaw’s will to be a residence for the Garden’s groundskeeper. Consistent with the Garden’s commitment to sustainability, upgrades to the Herring House incorporated many green features.
