Brining Battles Winter Ice!
Salt that is applied to mitigate icy roads, sidewalks, and parking lots ends up in our rivers and streams. Water quality monitoring consistently finds that our waterways are too salty to support aquatic life. At the EarthWays Center, we are working with large-scale salt applicators to address this problem at its source.
