St. Louis does business at the confluence of the fourth largest watershed on Earth. Global impacts of the Mississippi River are strategically crucial, but local understanding of “America’s Waterway” remains at a low ebb. Economic and creative forces in our area are working to change that.

Mayors of the 124 cities along the Mississippi are turning this awareness tide, through the Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative. Their collaboration is addressing river issues that promote commerce, conservation and culture, for outcomes at a watershed scale.

Exhibitions of the visual art project Watershed Cairns along the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers show how the arts can state the case for sustainable practice, to benefit both business and nature.

Compelling presentations by Colin Wellenkamp, Executive Director of MRCTI, and artist Libby Reuter, co-creator of Watershed Cairns will demonstrate value to businesses and communities, in our region and beyond.

Hosted at the LEED Gold corporate headquarters of Bunge, 1391 Timberlake Manor Parkway, Chesterfield, MO 63017. Registration at $30 includes program, networking and Enchilada Fiesta lunch.
