Description

Travel to wine-producing regions around the world through a five course dinner hosted by a visiting wine expert. Chefs from Catering St. Louis will create the regional menu, pairing each course with a different wine from the same region.

Guest Speaker for the October Wine Dinner is Hugh MacPhail, General Manager of Ideal Wine & Spirits, an importer of small production, high quality French and Italian wineries. Hugh has been in the wine business since 1983. Unusual in this day and age, he has worked with Ideal Wine the entire time. Working for a small, independent importer has allowed Hugh to see and experience every aspect of the wine business, and given him the opportunity to travel and meet with winemakers, farmers and merchants from every region of France and Italy. Hugh enjoys working in the market, interacting with distributors, restaurateurs, and consumers. This keeps his focus on selecting wines of value and quality, the hallmarks of Ideal's portfolio.
