Nature Connects: Art with LEGO® Bricks

In the summer of 2014, larger-than-life plants and animals made entirely from LEGO® bricks took up residence inside the Garden's world-famous Climatron®. A bald eagle, butterfly, lily and ducks were among the subjects of Nature Connects: Art with LEGO® Bricks. In total, the 12 installations of this nature-themed exhibit featured 25 individual LEGO brick sculptures designed and created by New York City artist Sean Kenney using more than 300,000 LEGO brick pieces.

Commissioned by Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University, this version of Nature Connects made its debut at the Missouri Botanical Garden and followed several popular appearances of the original Nature Connects show, which is currently touring botanical gardens around the country.
