2022 Green Living Festival - August 13 at Saint Louis Art Museum

This event takes place Saturday, August 13, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Saint Louis Art Museum (One Fine Arts Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110).

Entrance to the Green Living Festival is included with regular entry to the Saint Louis Art Museum where general admission is FREE.

Guided Walking Tours (Sponsored by Spire)

Tours will begin to the west of the Information Center in the Sculpture Hall. Look for the sign.
Tours are approximately 45 minutes.

Join a Saint Louis Art Museum docent for a lively and engaging tour of the Museum’s collection, featuring the theme Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. There are two tours available during each time slot (20-person max).
Drop-in, first come, first served. No pre-registration requested.
3 p.m.   native plantsTour of Art Hill Gardens
Roman Fox, Forest Park Forever Horticulturist
Join Roman as he discusses the flower beds on each side of the Apotheosis of Saint Louis statue at the top of Art Hill, and the plants curated in them.

Amy Torbert, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Assistant Curator of American Art
Join Amy Torbert as she explores a selection of works of art in the Saint Louis Art Museum collection using the principles of “ecocriticism,” which is a field study that emphasizes issues of environmental inter-connectedness, sustainability, and justice. Investigating these important considerations in historical works of art will reveal their hidden meanings and suggest their continued relevance today.

Explore the galleries with a nature-themed scavenger hunt and take home a Painting Nature take-and-make art activity kit, available while supplies last.

Location: Across the street from the Art Museum’s main entrance, Fine Arts Drive

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   benchBags 2 Bench
Check out a traveling bench made of recycled materials. The bench, produced by Ranken Technical Institute and made of Trex® materials, serves as a visual reminder that responsible recycling of plastic bags and wraps—the number one contaminant in the single-stream recycling process—matters. The first 300 guests will receive a colorful reusable bag.
