Missouri Botanical Garden names Dr. Lúcia Lohmann as next Garden president

After an extensive international search, the Missouri Botanical Garden has named international botanist and conservationist Dr. Lúcia G. Lohmann as the Garden’s next President and Director and George Engelmann Professor of Botany at Washington University in St. Louis. Missouri Botanical Garden announces latest Museum exhibition - Kernels of Culture: Maize Around the World

The Stephen and Peter Sachs Museum, located at the Missouri Botanical Garden, is highlighting the significant role maize has played in agriculture, scientific development and culture at its latest exhibition – Kernels of Culture: Maize Around the World. The exhibition will open on Friday, May 3 and will remain at the Sachs Museum through March 2025.

MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDEN SCIENTISTS DESCRIBE NEW ORCHID SPECIES RELATED TO FAMOUS DARWIN’S ORCHID

Missouri Botanical Garden scientists and collaborators discovered and described a new orchid species in Central Madagascar with a record-setting nectar spur and close ties to the famous “Darwin’s orchid.” This novelty species needs urgent conservation action, scientists say.
