The Science and Sustainability Open House will be held for one day on Saturday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meet our scientists at the Monsanto Research Center and learn how they collect, study, and conserve plants. You can also learn about the Garden's sustainability programs by joining EarthWays Center and Education division staff at the Commerce Bank Center for Science Education (CBEC). EarthWays Center (CBEC)
At the EarthWays Center, we strive to enrich lives and protect plants and our environment by educating and connecting people to make practical sustainable choices where they live, learn, work, and play. Meet the team that educates and connects people to 20+ programs in the community. There will be plenty to do for all ages. Interact with the BiodiverseCity game, learn “how to green your school,” or take the reduce-reuse-recycle plastic bag quiz. Hands-on activities will include a sustainability scavenger hunt, make and take herbal sachets, and DIY upcycling with our friends from Perennial.
Missouri Botanical Garden Botanists (Monsanto)
Missouri Botanical Garden scientists are doing research all over the world. Visitors will be invited to hear more about their experiences and findings, and learn how they collect, study, and conserve plants. Tour our 7 million-specimen herbarium and visit the Peter H. Raven Library, one of the most comprehensive libraries of botanical literature in the world, including more than 6,500 rare books. Therapeutic Horticulture (CBEC)

U.S. Green Building Council - Missouri Gateway Chapter (CBEC)
The mission of the Missouri Gateway Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council is "To create and restore buildings and communities that will regenerate and sustain the health and vitality of all life within a generation." Go Behind the Scenes at Two Locations!
The two buildings are across the street from each other. You can park at the Garden or at either of the two sites and then walk to both places. Both events are free and open to the public.
