Journey with us to the French countryside in this special members-only lecture featuring Dr. Eric T. Haskell, Professor of French Studies and Interdisciplinary Humanities at Scripps College and Director of the Clark Humanities Museum. Explore the history and aesthetics of the potager, or French kitchen garden, starting with the Sun King’s celebrated potager at Versailles and continuing with the kitchen gardens at Saint Jean de Beauregard, near Paris, and of Villandry, the jewel in the crown of Loire Valley landscapes.This members-only event will take place in Shoenberg Theater. Seating is limited, and reservations are required.
