In addition to the many sustainability-focused exhibits and presentations, and the wonderful food and beverages, we also have fun, family-friendly events and activities planned throughout the day!

Pollinator Appreciation: Eckert’s
Pollinator Plant Give Away: the first 150 families can pick up a pollinator friendly milkweed plant to take home
Decorate a Recycled Tile: personalize a keepsake with markers
Found Nature Art Activity: Forest Park Forever
Green Homes Bingo: Explore the Festival and earn a special prize for completing B-I-N-G-O
Jump Rope Make and Take: Shining Rivers Waldorf School (fee charged)
Boys with their solar carsSolar Oven S’mores: make a snack in our solar oven
Solar Cars: purchase a kit to build now or take home ($10 per kit or two for $15)
World of Worms: discover the power of worms, draw your own worm cartoon, and get close with these wiggling decomposers!

Sustainable Story Time: Join us as we jump into fun-filled stories that are green for the planet! Look for the blankets on the lawn next to the Children’s Area tents.

At middle level Answer Desks. Visit the Plant Doctor and the Planet Doctor! Get answers to your plant related and green living questions. For questions anytime email: greenresources@mobot.org.

Center for Home Gardening Sustainability Tour:
Tours last approximately 45 minutes; meet at upper level Visitor Desk.
Stroll with a Master Gardener to see the Center’s demonstration gardens, and sustainability components such as compost area, bee yard, solar panels, rain barrel, rain gardens, and native plant area.
