Description

Help us celebrate Missouri Botanical Garden founder Henry Shaw’s 217th birthday! Festivities take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include a silhouette artist, stilt walker, balloon artist, marionette shows (10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m.) and more. Take a tour of Tower Grove House, Shaw’s original country estate, open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A selection of items from the Garden's Herbarium and Peter H. Raven Library, originally housed in the historic Museum Building, will be on display showcasing the Garden's long history as a leading scientific institution. A Garden archivist will also be on hand to answer questions about the historic Museum Building's renovation, including the unexpected discovery of a large mural depicting three influential botanists.
