I love this plant, it grows well and needs nothing. Looks great, survives droughts, and spreads to a great mass.

A tough plant for tough spots. Grows in dry, rocky Ozark soils of neutral to high PH. Plant them in mass...with 2-3 seedlings per hole so that they spread eventually. Female plants will have red, fuzzy berries appealing to birds in spring.
Plants growing in the wild on my place tolerate shade and grow about 2-3 feet tall.
The only downside to this plant is it's slow growth. Nevertheless, a great wildlife plant, and nice fall colors. Seedlings can be had from Missouri Dept of Conservation.

Excellent multi-purpose plant for tough locations. I use this a lot on slopes and areas that receive road salt spray and it does great. Great fall color too.
