Potentilla is a genus of about 500 species of mostly shrubs and herbaceous perennials found throughout the Northern Hemisphere. They are grown for their attractive flowers.
Genus name from Latin potens meaning powerful is in reference to the reputed medicinal properties of the plant.
'Flamenco' is a free-flowering, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial which typically forms a foliage mound 12-20" tall with a slightly larger spread. Features blood red, 5-petaled, rose-like flowers (to 1" diameter) with dark eyes. Long summer bloom. Tri-partite, strawberry-like, toothed, medium green leaves are silvery beneath.
