Noteworthy Characteristics

Evolvulus is a genus of around 100 species of annuals, herbaceous perennials and subshrubs native to North and South America with the center of diversity in the tropics. They are characterized by having non-twining growth habits, more or less funnel-shaped, blue to white flowers, and two, forked styles with long, thin stigmas.

Genus name comes from the Latin word evolvo meaning "to untwist or unravel" because members of this genus, unlike many others in the Convolvulaceae family, do not twine.

The common name dwarf morning glory refers to the similar appearance of the flowers of this plant to those of plants in the genus Ipomoea

BLUE MY MIND is a floriferous, hybrid Evolvulus selection with a mounding to trailing growth habit. The stems and leaves have soft layer of fuzzy hair. A profusion of bright blue, funnel-shaped, 0.5-0.75" wide flowers emerge from the leaf axils and bloom from late spring until frost. Individual flowers open in the morning and close in the afternoon before dropping off the plant. Mature plants will reach up to 1' tall with a 2' spread.
